Ray  > Travel > Classic Pics: Hersheypark 2004
The trip in the Wayback Machine continues with 16 pictures from my visit to Hersheypark in August 2004. All photos taken with a disposable camera.

Ray > Disposable cameras had no zoom and no preview screen, so this is the best I could do for a shot of Chocolate World.
Ray > Hershey's Chance Gondola Wheel boasts the park's logo in the center and looks stunning at night. A Chance Chaos can be seen in the foreground.
Ray > Wildcat was Hershey's first GCI coaster and is universally panned by the "expert" enthusiast group. I thought it was a spectacular ride featuring brutal turns and wicked laterals.
Ray > Guess I tried to do too much with GIMP (rotation didn't quite turn out as planned). This view shows Hershey's famous Mack Wild Mouse, the Chance Wheel again, and in the far background, the GCI Lightning Racer coaster(s).
Ray > Riders on RollerSoaker (Setpoint Swing Thing coaster) find out how the coaster got its name.
Ray > Another view of RollerSoaker. In the center is Tidal Force (100-foot tall Hopkins Chutes ride).
Ray > A train crests Storm Runner's top hat element. Storm Runner is an Intamin rocket coaster and was the first to feature inversions when it opened in 2004.
Ray > The first inversion on Storm Runner is this unusually-shaped loop.
Ray > The lack of a zoom feature on the camera is noticeable here. This is Storm Runner's snake roll, a killer element that rolls the train upside down one full time and then a half a turn before dumping it down a hill. It's hard to explain even 4 years later.
